Laureth 10 is a polyethylene primary alcohol – a nonionic surfactant used as wetting agent and / or detergent for many applications. Stable in both aqueous acidic and alkaline solutions. It is also used as raw material for sulfated products.
| Features | Lauryl alcohol 10-mole ethoxylate; non-ionic polyethylene primary alcohol; stable in acidic and alkaline systems; used as wetting agent, emulsifier, solubilizer, conditioner, coupling agent and raw material for sulfated surfactants. |
| Benefits | Excellent water solubility and high cloud point enable clear concentrates; multifunctionality reduces number of surfactants needed; suitable as precursor for SLES-type materials. |
| Typical Properties | Clear to translucent liquid; moisture max 0.50%; pH (10% solution) 6.0–8.0; hydroxyl value 85–95 mg KOH/g; cloud point 1% in water 87–89 °C; miscible in water. |
| Applications | Laundry detergents, consumer and hard surface cleaners, rinse-off products such as creams, lotions and shaving preparations, intermediate for sulfated surfactants. |
